2. Master the ‘Take It’ and ‘Drop It’ Commands

-Before starting the cleanup training, your puppy should know the ‘take it’ and ‘drop it’ commands.

Take It:

Hold a toy and show it to your puppy.

Say “take it” and encourage your puppy to grab the toy with their mouth.

Once they take the toy, praise them or click your clicker, then offer a treat.

Drop It:

When your puppy has the toy in their mouth, hold a treat close to their nose.

Say “drop it” and wait for them to drop the toy to get the treat.

Once they drop the toy, praise or click, then give them the treat.
